Ellison Video

On Thursday, October 28, Election Integrity Watch filed a federal lawsuit against an illegal and unconstitutional policy instituted by Hennepin and Ramsey Counties, blocking people from voting if they are wearing “Tea Party” apparel or “Election Integrity Watch / Please ID Me” buttons.

Representative Keith Ellison (D-MN-5) claims Election Integrity Watch is out to suppress minority and student voters and uses deception to make his case.

When he crashed the press conference to impugn the neighborhood watch approach to encourage citizen involvement in protecting election integrity, he got caught with a difficult question. See how he used doctored Election Integrity Watch materials to make his unsubstantiated and outrageous points.

The LYING, MARXIST Pukegressive Democrats are the most dis-honest people wasting oxygen!!!!

    • Kimo says:

They speak of this, while black panthers stand outside a voting place with bats…..they all]democrats\ speak with forked tounges.folks, there will onlt be one way to cleanse us from them.yall know what it is, yall jusy aint ready yet.yet.will you wait until you are all in an encloser, with no way to defend yourself?

      • Judy says:

This is what happens in a marxist administration. There are no more democrats. They are progressive socialists, communists, or marxists. They really hate the Tea Party or anyone conservative. The fight has just begun. We have a long ways to go to beat these thugs.

      • Me says:

The watch groups have 1 person per party at a precinct. Also, the 1 individual has to be listed ahead of time for the election judge and staff at the site. There is no pro party or 1-sidedness here!!! It’s better for everyone to be careful and have a way to help make sure everything goes smoothly.

Get the facts… learn the laws.

      • Steve Adams says:

This is the first I’ve heard about Black Panthers with bats at polling places (I didn’t know Black Panthers still existed!). Can you provide a link to the video and/or photos of this? I’d like to check it out.

    • Bonnie Jean says:

Is this about ideology? Name-calling? or simply upholding the current law? “viewpoint neutral” is the issue, not oxygen deprivation and barbed remarks. Rep states his opinion, and his perceptions, his convictions. These statements are not meant to offend. They are an assertion of a veiwpoint. How is it that earns him (and others by your perceived assocation with him) such a venomous verbal attack?

    • Judy says:

I had to take my jacket off at the polls that had a sticker for our candidate on it. This stuff is ridiculous. We have a right to wear a Tea Party t-shirt or have a sticker on my shirt. We can watch for voter fraud. I hope they go through with this lawsuit and win. Watch, record, and report, don’t confront. Better job than the Black Panthers who used a big stick for voter intimidation and the lawsuit was dismissed. Whose country is this? We will not let the liberals win this!

  2. Concerned citizen says:

The tea party and Republican party are trying to intimidate voters. Shame on them! Will they stop at nothing to try to regain power?

    • Carol says:

Concerned Citizen, you crack me up! Republicans and tea party people don’t intimidate voters! What about the Dems and Acorn and the Black Panthers in PA holding billy clubs right outside the polling place doors!!!!

      • Concerned citizen says:

Sadly, it sounds like you’ve spent too much time watching the fiction FOX tries to pass off as news.

        • D iana Pasley says:

          Concerned citizen,
have you seen the video of those Black Panthers with the Billy clubs in front of the polling place in Philly? if you haven’t, then you should. if you have then shame on you! what does Fox news have to do with it? We’re those guys intimidating or not? And has Acorn been consistently found guilty of submitting illegal and phony voter registrations, or not?
Did you hear the voice of the man who shot the video of the two black panthers…his voice is quaking. he was afraid as well.
You should open your eyes to the truth…not just what you find convenient or conducive to your own prejudices.
This country went through many years of war, with brother killing brother, to guarantee the freedoms of all Americans.
these days that seems to be forgotten.
If we do not overcome these prejudices this land will not survive what is coming. Times are about to change…it is time to act as one united country and urn away from these petty hatreds.

        • Albaby says:

Concerned citizen. Apparently you watch too much MSM or MSNBC. Didn’t you see the videos of the NBP at the polls? Did you approve?

However, I don’t think the button is electioneering but I do believe Tea Party, Dem or GOP tees etc should be banned. The only reason anyone would wear something like that to the polls is to electioneer. At my polling place, no electioneering was allowed within x feet of the polls. The area was marked by tape. I couldn’t park my car there because it had campaign bumper stickers. Neither could anyone else. I was fine with that. But, of course, one person parked his pickup just outside the zone and erected a huge campaign sign on it and left it set there all day. Yep, it was a Democrat. He was within the law, but he prevented any other voter from using the parking place all day. Typical.

    • mundomaniac says:

So it’s okay for the Democrats to have done this in the 2008 election (remember the baseball bats?), but now you’re saying it’s awful? Nonsense. This is just saying “obey the law.” I know that probably sounds “awful,” but we’re supposed to be a society governed by law.

    • grimkiln says:

the tea party and repubs aren’t ‘trying’ to intimidate anyone. it’s just the natural order of things that roaches run from light.

    • TrueTheVote says:

To Concerned Citizen, how exactly are the Tea Party and Republicans trying to supress the vote? You’re an absolute idiot if that’s the belief you hold. You can’t demonstrate ONE instance of the Tea Party or Republicans trying to supress the vote, unless you mean they’re trying to prevent people who should NOT be voting, i.e., dead people, identity theft, illegal immigrants from voting. You should want that too, unless you’re a left wing who feels all people who by law should not be voting to vote to keep a corrupt Democrat in office. I challenge you to give me examples of the TP and Republicans from preventing lawful citizens from voting.

      • Concerned citizen says:

Funny how people always result to name calling when they don’t have facts to support their opinions.

          • IAM says:

“Concerned Citizen,” of course, Condos makes his unsupported claim. He is a Democrat. He is afraid of honesty. On this page, you have continually demonstrated that you watch only the “main stream” media, which refuses to cover the shameful actions during the 2008 election, so naturally you are unaware of the incidents and claim they are “made up.” However, the same “main stream” media constantly scream about Tea Party “intimidation tactics,” so you believe that they exist. Don’t slam FOX News, it is the only source for truth.

          • David Casto says:

Intimidation and bullying to insure every citizen”s freedom. Sounds like a good idea to me. I suppose you also would like to no longer see police on the streets. Perhaps we should remove the folks who watch our borders as well. When people are placed into public office through fraudulent means they are not a fair representative of the people. They will act against the wishes of the people, they will not care what you say or think, they will do only that which will benefits themselves and to hell with everyone else. They don’t need to please anyone because they know the next election is also “in the bag”. All these folks want, the folks that you are rallying against, is fair and honest lawful elections. It’s not about R vs D. Personally I’m neither (I think both parties are full of rotten bastards). But you don’t seem to have, from your comments anyway, of any sort of critical thinking ability, for you are spewing out more of the same rhetoric that one can find on any Democrat news outlet, almost verbatim.
Considering where you decided to post your silly comments one can only conclude that you are either a fool or a troll. Quite likely both.

        • Roger Moorehouse says:

ConcernedCitizen – if the shoe fits…

    • Robin Harrison says:

Who are we trying to intimidate, the illegal voters? Good, because it is illegal for them to vote.

    • LEL MN says:

Concerned Citizens says “The tea party and Republican party are trying to intimidate voters”.
Note concerned enough I’d say. The Tea Party & Repubs have got a long way to go to come anywhere near what obama’s private army has already done.
      Move along cracker!

    • Ronda says:

Because they want people to show i.d. when they vote and because they want those who would commit fraud to know that people are watching for fraud. Really?! Are you serious?! I hate how nasty people get on these blogs, so I don’t want to say what I am really thinking, but…your statement is absurd.

      • Me says:

It’s the current LAW that you have to show ID when voting. When you register you have to show your ID and a utility bill from your residence. It’s the LAW. It is also allowed by the LAW that these observers can be there during the voting process. There can be 1 observer per party… SO THAT MEANS THE DEMS AND REPUBS CAN EACH HAVE AN OBSERVER PER PRECINCT.

(Minnesota Statute 204C.07) THIS IS THE MN STATUTE….

Major political parties are allowed to appoint by certificate, one poll challenger in each precinct. Poll challengers must be residents of Minnesota and can’t be election judges.

Election Judges must permit official poll challengers to remain in the polling place and observe the election process, including tabulation after the polls close.

Challengers may not handle or inspect registration cards, files, or lists. Challengers may not prepare lists of individuals who have or have not voted.

Challengers may converse with voters only to determine, in the presence of an election judge, whether the voter is eligible to vote in the precinct.

Poll Challengers are not permitted to use “Caging lists.” A Caging list is a list of voters to whom a piece of mail could not be delivered for purpose of challenging their residence and eligibility. Election judges may challenge voters based on undeliverable official election mai

        • Dan says:

You need ID to register, unless you claim not to have ID, in which case you don’t. One registered voter can vouch for up to 15 Election Day registrants who don’t have to provide any ID at all, and they get ballots on the spot. Their identity and residence isn’t checked until after the election. In 2008, 23,000 Election day registrants provided addresses that cold not subsequently be verified.

    • Wayne27 says:

On October 31, 2010 at 4:52 pm, ‘Concerned Citizen’ wrote that, “The tea party and Republican party are trying to intimidate voters. Shame on them! Will they stop at nothing to try to regain power?” Well, making baseless assertions does not make them true, no matter how many times they’re repeated. The Tea Party and the Republicans have not, do not, and will not, infringe on the right of anyone to vote, but we do want to prevent voter fraud, the kind of documented voter fraud that occurred in the 2008 election between Franken and Coleman. There is no justifiable reason to oppose the use of state-issued, photo IDs. This is the United States, and we must ensure that those who vote are doing so legally. Only in this way can we have faith in the integrity of our election process.

    • Trisha says:

I’m sorry,I do not understand your BACKWARDS thinking..I truly hink that Liberals brains are backwards!
They are trying to S.T.O.P. voter FRAUD so the ONLY ONES who would be intimidated are CHEATERS & those STOPPING voters who have Tea Party identification.”MUSLIM Keith Ellison says they’re trying to “reduce the electorate”..ONLY THE ONES WHO ARE COMMITTING “FRAUD” !!!!!!!!
Ellison,is LYING at the end, which is what he PROMISED to do when he was sworn in on a Quaran!! which says Muslims Can & MUST..I said M-U-S-T… LIE to infidels!! Since our inception, all elected officials have sworn on a Bible which says that YOU WILL NOT LIE!!
Wake up & smell the HUMUS!!

    • Sam says:

It seems to me that you’re calling the wrong ‘kettle black’. If it weren’t for the Tea Parties and Republicans, this state would be going to the Dogs in a very big hurry. Its the Democrats who are trying to scare the rest of us into not voting. Mr. Elifison, is a FRAUD. If he does something illegal, its OK, but any one else, forget it. Mr. Elifison needs to speak the Truth, for once in his life.

    • RK says:

Many straight votes are going to the Democrats all accross this land. Anyone who cannot see what the liberal progressives are doing are blind to truth. You people that vote for or support the liberal Democrat agenda are non compus mentus. Liberalism is a mental disorder

      • Dan says:

I sure am relieved to find more and more as time progress’s (no pun) that Mn. is maybe not after all quite so “Liberal”. Or, possibly it is a turning of the tide due to this fortunate Political storm, maybe a “Perfect Storm”. Obama and his deceitful “agenda” has awakened the “Conservative” giant. Liberals….”Liberalism” is like a cancer. It decays all of the positive attributes of humanity, and if you are a “Liberal”, you have simpley “drank the Koolaid”, and you are a victom of your own naive and unfortunate fate.
I am proud of my Country, and I will fight to keep what freedom I still have. The only chance this beautiful County has to contunue on being the greatest example of “Democracy” in the history of humanity, is “Conservatism”. History has proved it, and God willing, so will the future !!

    • Susan S. says:

Concerned Citizen……sorry….you need to educate yourself on exactly what the issue is here! Wearing a tea-party t-shirt isn’t promoting anything! Read and learn what you are being concerned about before making a bafoon out of yourself……….

I will say I consider myself a TP and I am weary of anything illegal happening during this election. I want people to know the public is watching the polls. In fact, I would like a policeman on hand too. Just in case..

This is simply another of Ellison’s lies. I don’t support him or his liberal agenda. As a matter of fact, when I needed help with the SSA earlier this year I contacted another Representative of Congress because I have absolutely no faith in this person, what so ever. He is simply and plainly a “lock-step” Democrat. He does whatever he’s told to do.

unfortunate that MN voters don’t seem to get it. look at the voting record for the state. we are a welfare state, and will remain so until people actually look at the issues, rather than gimme programs. by the way, go bachman! 11. Steve V. says:

Progressives are so two faced.. They support freedom of Speech but not when it’s against their agenda.. They support fair and legal voting practices but call watch dog groups who watch the process, intimidation.. They fail to prosecute Black Panthers for real documented and videoed voter intimidation and they hate it when their support groups Like ACORN and SEIU get their hands caught in possible voter fraud… As Native Americans call it, they speak with forked tongue…

  13. San Schnabel says:

His behavior is outrageously shocking. Thank-you for this video, clearly shows how blatantly he lies. Photo ID for voting needs to be law, we need one for every thing else, no reason why anyone would be without one.

  14. Sparkle says:

Here in Florida we do not get a ballot until we show a photo ID and sign an electronic screen that is verified. It should be as simple everywhere.

If youtube removes this video from their site, or you have more problems with youtube being influenced, repost the video on another site, like vimeo, or as a flash file on a flash upload site like newgrounds. 18. Chip W says:

Everyone is so quick to jump to unsupported conclusions. My opinion:
Tea Party t-shirts can be seen as campaigning at the polls. Certainly they’re political.
Same for the button with the eye on it, though this is a stretch. Debatable.
The poster Ellison held up sure appears to be different from the one it was compared to. That’s not enough to conclude that Ellison is a lying low-life progressive scum.
I need more information. Why does no one else need more information? Because they’re not much interested in what the truth is. Not many are.

    • Dan says:

The law defines political campiagn materials as those intended to influence the outcome of the election. Tea Party slogans include “Liberty” (on our coins), “Don’t Tread on Me” (one of the original American mottos), and “Tea Party” which doesn’t mean political party, but is used to recall the Boston Tea Party. It has nothing to do with candidates or issues on the ballot and are therefore permitted under the law. These things go to beliefs and philosophy. If they can ban Tea Party or Election Interity, then they can ban crucifix necklaces, union jackets and Vikings jerseys.

      • Chip W says:

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Based on other comments here, I wouldn’t expect one.
But I disagree. The Tea Party is more than what you say. Many candidates are called Tea Party candidates. And there’s the Tea Party movement. It does have to do with candidates and issues. Invoking the Tea Party is stating a political position.

  19. larryt700 says:

It is simple! They want illegals and foreign nationals voting! Simply because this administration is so UNPOPULAR that they have to import voters! Also goes to show that they hate this country and want to change it into a socialist country!

  20. jason says:

Its pretty simple – democrats appeal to the bottom feeders looking for a handout as they are the ones that legislate redistribution of wealth to gain votes from the same. They steal from those who by industry, hard work and entrepreneurship have earned a proper living (“the rich” the democrats call them, as if thats a bad word) and give to the uninspired, the lazy, the quitters (“the poor” the dems like to call them- as if its something they cant overcome by their own industry) – so naturally, there is a tendency for voter fraud with the democratic party since it appeals to the loser crowd, thus the ones that for one reason or another (felons, illegals, etc) cant legally vote. There needs to be a voter watch to prevent this type of fraud. Who is going to do it? The unions? Hardly – theres no money to be made by that? The democratic officials, yeah right, and cut the nose off to spite their own faces. The dems are terrified of having our polls scrutinized as they know there is rampant fraud going on by the undesireables that know its easier to sit on their asses and watch springer for 364 days a year, and then vote that one day a year to earn another free year of living off the republicans.

  21. Clarence says:

If the tea party is not a party, Why is it called “the tea party”?

    • Dan says:

Ach! No wonder this country is in such crisis. People don’t even have a rudimentary grasp of the most basic facets of American history any more. “Tea Party” as in the Boston Tea Party. Look it up for Heaven’s sake! #$%&!!!

    • IAM says:

Tea “Party” has nothing to do with political parties. It’s similar to “partying” on Saturday night — you know, like when you go out and get drunk. When the Boston patriots got together and dumped the tea into the harbor, they called it a “party.”

  22. Neil says:

Why am I not suprised that they (democrats) get so up set when “we the people” would like to see things done honestly and above board. Honesty is something that they have forgoten. I am so sick and tired of the lies that we are feed from the democratic party that is so far to the left that they do not know what “RIGHT” is.

  23. BURT COLEMAN says:

LIKE ALL LIBERALS WHEN HE IS CORNERED HE WILL WALK AWAY,BOOT HIM OUT,THE SOONER THE BETTER………… BURT

  24. Barry says:

I am sure no one wore an Obama T-shirt when voting. The democrats tend to be lying sleazy balls. Time and again unions and big city slime balls pay people to vote. The bring in illiterates to vote…probably giving them colt 45. The game is over for the ever growing democrat money machine…the public unions are about to be broken, and the tax payers are taking back THEIR country!

  25. lies? says:

are you insane? How is He a liar for having a example of a sign that has the phone number covered? it was probably covered for legal purposes by an aid. otherwise He would be sued by these same nutcases. sure he says they must have been too cowardly to identify themselves but that sounds more like His being uninformed than flat out lying.
but as usual He is black so… we all know the tea party and black, as well as any other color than white, doesn’t mix.
immediately tea baggers tried to silence him saying it’s their press conference. the tea party is a party and all that’s being asked is that they abide by the long established laws concerning out elections. no campaigning at the polls!
get a grip on reality you fruitcakes!

    • Dan says:

Bit more than a phone number. He photoshopped out the name of the organization and all contact info, then claimed the poster was made by some “shadwy” anonymous group. Also deleted the message: Report voter fraud by calling…” When asked why he used a doctored image, instead of saying “we were just covering up the phone number because we want people to call our number” or whatever, he said, “didn’t happen.” No question – LIE.

Are you insane? Going to race? What has that got to do with it? That page in the old DFL playbook is wearing thin. Too bad it’s page one and there’s no page two.

    • IAM says:

“lies?” you’re the one who needs to get a grip on reality if you have deluded yourself into believing that only Caucasians are members of the Tea Party. The members span the entire spectrum, not only all races, but also all political parties. Yes, there are even Democrats who identify themselves as Tea Party members.

    • Me says:

I don’t know why you want to throw the race card out there. Maybe you have nothing left to sling? Do you know who Michael Steel is? Do you know who Kevin Jackson, author of The Big Black Lie, is? Do you know that Martin Luthor King was a republican? Do you know that the Republican congress passed the bill that went to JFK’s desk? Do you know that Democrats were constantly voting against it so that it wouldn’t reach the President? So, the reason the civil rights bill was even a reality is because of the Republicans. If you think the Tea Party is trying to do more than seek liberty then you are simply stupid or insane.

  26. John Swanson says:

This doesn’t surprise me one bit. This turd is a racist, homophobe, just look at his voting record.

Secondly the “TEA Party” is NOT a political party. I can wear my t shirt to the polls and will do so on Tuesday.

  27. Joel Fenske says:

Way to go Keith. You’ll talk to the media/answer their questions, but won’t respond to a legitimate question from a woman in your district. He says: “I don’t like this button here”, “and this ID thing”; WOW, God forbid we make sure the election results aren’t tampered with…ala Al Franken and his felonious friends.
Runnin’ scared…good luck on Tuesday to all of the candidates: your life will NEVER be the same. God save us.

  28. ReddFrogg says:

It’s obvious that it did happen. The more the ProgressiveSocialist-Commies pull this sort of crap, the deeper they dig the hole that they will be buried in come election day. May the Democrat Party rest in piece because in reality, there is no Democrat Party anymore. It’s only Progressive-Socialist-Commies who hijacked the Party and retained the name in order to fool some Party members and the public.

  29. cheryl says:

I think this is a good thing especially if its not government run, if its U.S. citizens trying to make sure people are ligit to vote. especially after ACORN or has everyone fogotten about this voter fraud, IM SURE THE DEMOCRATS WOULD LOVE FOR US TO FORGET IT!

  30. Paul says:

I’m not sure what to think about this but in my humble opinion Most not all but Most polititions are crooked to some degree. Democrat Republican Independant All have their agendas. Most of which have everything to do with their pet projects self promotion and greed. Remember we are ALL human and make mistakes to those of you who voted for Obama you can try to redeem your selves this tuesday. Another thing I have to believe in is this nations resiliency. As a nation our parents grand parents Great grand parents have all delt with adversity and have come out better in the end. We all have this ability bred into our dna. Some more than others but if you all look it is there dust off the cob webs from it go do your best at work school or where ever you do your business. and never forget we ALL have an opportunity to hand the incumbant polititions their walking papers who ever they are. Let’s send Mr President a stern warning that if he and congress doesn’t do what the people of this nation hired them to do THEY WILL BE REPLACED hopefully long before the damage becomes irreversible.

  31. Wake up says:

One of the inviolable laws that we all must live with (regardless of political affiliation) is that ‘what you resist – persists’. Why in God’s name are people who should know much better devoting so much attention to this nonsense? You are drawing very undue attention to a ridiculous debate and giving these ‘Progressive Democrats’ so much more attention than they deserve. Let them commit their petty crimes so that we can prosecute them for their mis-deeds. It is much more effective to convict them of their crimes than to whine about the crimes they might be about to commit. If voting officials ban anyone from voting because of what they are wearing (and actually DO it) they will be prosecuted afterwards, their ‘movement will be justifibly discredited and, of course, the election will be re-run. This ridiculous bickering among people who seem to afraid of everything under the sun accomplishes nothing more than to raise the general level of fear and pointless hysteria. If they are in the wrong, let them act it out so they can be properly disciplined for it in a public way where it will no longer be a pointless debate about whether or not they ‘might’ be wrong. Let them commit the crime so that they can be exposed for what they really are. No one will die if a couple of counties’ elections are so clumsily “rigged”.(Those won’t be the only two counties either – you can bet on that.) However, it will be obviously and undeniably clear afterwards who they are and what they are. If these miscreants are elected by the strength of votes in other counties, they might even be able to be deposed afterwards on the basis of their fraud in these two counties. Until they have actually committed their crimes, it is just childish bickering that draws more attention to thier stated agenda – which helps even more to conceal their ‘hidden’ agenda. Let them show themselves for who they really are. Then they can be rightly and undeniably accused.

I’m not from Minnesota, but it seems to me that if Minnesotans re-elect this particular congressman, they are as guilty as he is. He gives new meaning to the term “weak sister”.

It sounds like a lot of folks really just don’t have enough to do. We have quite a number of real problems facing us. Why not use your energy to take a crack at one of them? Ignoring these petty clown really takes the wind out of their sails. Remember, elected officials have no power without support of their constituency. If these Bozos have the power to draw such media attention, ask yourself who is giving it to them.

I think the “Progressive Democrat” movement, notwithstanding some of it’s more altruistic intentions, is an abomination. I plan to fight it by hiring a couple of people into my business. I think that might just make a bit of a difference for some Americans. I’m sorry I wasted so much time writing this, but all of this hysteria among people who should know better makes me sick

  32. Voter says:

It appears to me like in the video from his conference he had the poster with the info blacked out and probably didn’t personally know it had been blacked out (maybe an aid did it). He called the group “shadowy” because there was no contact info on the poster it seems. Maybe a lie, maybe disingenuous, maybe just misinformed.

Then in the other video when the gentleman is asking Ellison questions two days later he asked why he “doctored” the images. As far as I could tell there was no doctoring, just blacked out contact info. And I definitely don’t think Ellison was lying in that moment because the gentleman seemed to clearly be saying something about the images on the poster.

My point is I got the email about this in my inbox and took the time to click through and watch it because it was apparently SO condemning, and I’m thoroughly un-impressed. If we’ve got legitimate reasons to critique a guy like Ellison let’s use those, but videos like this just make us look desperate and inaccurate with our information.

  33. Jerry Jacobs says:

The liberals and their ACORN affiliates practice the following voter scam methodology:
    1. Before the election their mantra is, “registration fraud is not voter fraud”
    2. During the voting, their mantra is, “everyone must vote, no one can be denied a vote”
    3. After the elecition, their mantra becomes, “the Republicans are trying to suppress the vote” (so illegal ballots can be counted)
Will your vote count if your side needs 52% of the total vote to win? I support Dan Severson for election integrity!

  34. Dr. Janet Webster says:

Minnesota wake up! Your state has been hijacked by overly zealous liberals who throw up the term of racist to intimidate the good people of the state. Your liberal government has put up so many roadblocks to progress to “protect” their liberal agenda that many of us have fled the state to more moderate climates to have the ability to run our businesses and our personal lives without the heavy handed government interfering with progress and job creation. I STRESS to all responsible, intelligent, moral independents and republicans to stand up to the propaganda and get tough with these budget busting, self serving liberals and take back your state. Ask your self this….where do all of these welfare recipients over the past 10 years come from??? heading west my friends to minnesota has their own states demand production from them for their welfare benefits and they flee westward to find more liberal benefits. I truly believe that the liberals are counting on the good hearted but mis guided souls of Minnesota to confuse the basic moral judgement with the liberal party. it is not wrong to say NO to the heavy handed policies that the government there uses to increase government payroll, reduce your rights as business owners and private citizens. If you don’t take control, I fear you will isolate yourselves with your strong liberal policies and turn into the California of the great white tundra. Don’t be afraid to do what you KNOW is right. Just say NO!!!!

  35. Clarence says:

    Dan,
Ach! I know about american history, and the boston tea party, I was wondering when I go to vote, will the teaparty candidates listed under republican, independant, or the “tea party” label, If they are listed under the tea party, that makes them a party, in my book. Ask a question, and get simulated swearing, and question my smarts, in return, way to rally folks to your cause.
    Clarence

  36. Sue says says:

Why would anyone who is truly legal to vote be against showing their picture ID, I really do not understand why anyone, especially an elected official of the people, would be against truth and integrity. They are the ones that should want the truth to prevail unless they have something to hide. The guilty are the ones that do not want to give dna or answer questions without their lawyer present or not show picture ID to vote. I want my country back under the judeo-christian beliefs and law it was founded on and it must start now.

  37. Mark Preimesberger says:

I almost can’t believe that an American, one who should believe in the American way, ( life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness) would have an objection to someone wearing a “PLEASE I.D. ME” button. It almost makes me want to ask you for your birth certificate, Mr. Ellison! Do you really not care who votes?

  38. Willa Dailey says:

What’s astonishing to me is that there is even any disagreement as to whether or not integrity in our voting process should be protected at all costs. Or, have we become a nation of “winning at all costs”? The real question isn’t “who benefits” from voter fraud. In the end, everyone loses. Bending the rules for some only breeds more sophisticated methods of bending the rules for others. The U.S. Constitution clearly uses the term “citizens of the United States” in every Amendment relating to voting. This language leaves no grey area for alternate interpretation.

If the only means of assuring our voting laws are enforced is to request proof of eligibility, those who hold the privilege should feel honored to comply in the interest of upholding the integrity of the result. Representative Ellison claims that the “ID Me” button is an attempt to “reduce the electorate so that people they don’t agree with won’t be able to participate….” It is mathematically impossible to reduce the “electorate”. It simply IS what it IS, demographically and legally. The only thing left to question in any given election is how many eligible voters will turn out and exercise their privilege to do so.

Those who disagree may lobby their case for expanding voting rights through legal means such as amending the Constitution to include other classes of United States residents (i.e. wannabe citizens, citizens in process, used to be citizens, citizens who want to vote more than once, dead citizens, convicted felon citizens, relatives of citizens, etc.).

Thus far Constitutional voting amendments have included expanding the vote to women, minorities, tax debtors and 18 year olds. Each amendment still contains the words “citizens of the United States”.

If Mr. Ellison thinks that Voter ID is a deliberate attempt to “reduce the electorate”, then doesn’t it stand to reason that the avoidance of voter ID is likewise an attempt to “increase the electorate?”

Until the laws favoring non-citizen voting are amended, they need to be respected and enforced. Anything less is a disingenuous and dangerous attempt to bend the rules in favor of someone’s own political agenda, regardless of their political party affiliation. This isn’t about electioneering, political parties or ideology. It’s about the law.

  39. NavyBuckeye says:

The Tea Party is not a political party but rather a movement. They should be permitted to wear shirts that say their slogans. Maybe we should ban U.S Flags in polling places since it stands for freedom and other American values. Here in Connecticut the Blumenthal campaign (along with Susan Bysiewicz, AG Canidate) were trying to get WWE shirts banned from being worn to the polls. The best part Susan Bysiewicz, currently Secretary of the State, was recorded saying she would issue the word to polling stations not to allow people wearing WWE garb to vote. Then the next day (after her and Blumenthal) took major backlash, along with a lawsuit by Vince, she came out and said she didn’t say that. Obviously forgetting that her initial statement was recorded.

The EIW pin is nothing but a threat to criminals. And we all know that some politicians need these criminals to be elected. Ellison may be one of them.

I know if I saw that scary eye at the polls…….I wouldn’t even get out of my car. I would cry “Mommy” and lock up with intense fear. In the meantime we law abiding citizens just have to deal with Alejandro and Mustafa voting while calling themselves Bill and Joe.

  40. Kalev says:

Ellison is typical of the lying marxist socialist that the Democratic Party has become.

  41. Wade Favidon says:

No there are no candidates listed as “Tea Party” on the ballot. Just Republicans and Democrats.

  42. Bonnie Jean says:

I saw no lies and no inconsistencies whatsoever in that video footage. I did see quite a bit of editing, which always makes me suspicious of what is being edited out by the parties hoping to prove something. Even with all that editing I still can’t see the point. Futhermore I DO NOT want to be required to show my ID at the polls. I used to think I had to, and one year I couldn’t find it, or I had lost it, or it had been stolen with my purse or something, and I spent hours looking for it before going to the polls just to take my brother, and i was told that I didn’t need it. I was relieved, and happy that I got to vote, where-as I thought I would not be allowed to. Truly, how many of you have gone to your polling place and given your name, and had the person gretting you say to you, “I am sorry, but someone claiming that name and address has already been here and voted.” Please weigh in if that has happened to you?

Anyway, maybe some people don’t find that big EYE, and those handcuffs intimidating. That is fine. The point is that there should be no persuasive or propagandist materials in the polling place. It is a neutral place. Let us keep it that way. Whether or not you believe that voter intergrity is compromised by lack of proof of identity, advertising your convictions at the polling place is inappropriate. That is why the law prohibiting it is in place. It is to keep the polling place comfortable for ALL registered or registering voters. Even timid people should feel comfortable at the polls.

    • Desiree says:

      Bonnie Jean,
Give me a break. I could liken your argument to drinking. “Oops I forgot my license, but I swear I’m legal. I can’t tell you what a relief it is not to have to provide my ID to prove I’m of legal age to drink. What an inconvenience.”
If you have the legal right to vote, why in the world would you ever feel intimidated by a voter fraud poster?

    • NavyBuckeye says:

      Bonnie,

Voter fraud is a major issue and being perpetrated by groups being given money by the feds (…Acorn). If you want to vote show your id. It’s not hard. It’s as about as ridiculous as those illegals claiming racism because they may be forced to show an id as well.

I have to show and id at the airport just to get on a plane. Why the heck should I have to do that? When I purchase my ticket they get all of my information. Also those signs at the airport, you know the ones calling me to show id and not assume someone’s identity…they scare me and should be taken down.

  43. Diane says:

Wow – I can’t believe this cr@p!! What difference does it make what a person wears to the polls. Does anyone really scrutinize what everyone wears – if so, perhaps I should drag out my finest ball gown, get my hair done at that expensive hair salon, pay $75 dollars to get may nails done too!! What a pile of you know what! The type of clothes you wear to the polls isn’t going to persuade anyone to vote any differently than what they had already made their minds up to vote. Give us a break demos – the shirt and the button stays (it is after all our right as freedom of speech and freedom of the press) and if I had either one of those items, I would wear it over my ballgown)! I am positive anyone wearing these items is not going to bully anyone to vote in a certain way nor will they harrass them. All I can say is perhaps we should offer the dems some cheese to go along with their whine.

  44. Rick says:

With all this fear of voter fraud, maybe ID’s eventually won’t be sufficient either? Do we ALL need a computer chip in our forehead or hand? How bout for the time being, we all dip our forefingers in ink?

  45. John Eddy says:

I’m from Washington State, but I can you this: Rep. Ellison NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE BY ANY LAWFUL MEANS NECESSARY!

  46. Be sure your lies will find you out.

  47. Ken says:

Republicans complain, but offer no solutions. They complain about welfare, but are first in line for a handout. Claim pro-life, bur favor death penalty. (from womb to doom). If they want to continue to live like Republicans, they need to vote for Democrats.

  48. tBone says:

i am SICK TO DEATH of these lying sacks of @#$t!!!!
AMERICA does not, has not and NEVER will bow to Marxist Fascist Socialist Statist
i witnessed the stereotypical SEIU assclowns manning the scanning booths today in NYC and a couple of them were rude as the Devil himself, talking loudly and abruptly toward voters: one was even using foul language!!!!! …i went with that woman to report the incident: fat lota good it did i’m sure but i sure as hell will be silent!

  49. dave says:

if you have nothing to hide . what the big deal about showing your id.
